On July 27, 2024, ArtMill hosted a public dissemination event that welcomed a record number of local visitors to explore the introductory exhibition and learn about the Inter-Species Refuge project, part of the Transformative Territories program.
With over 80 participants, the day was a resounding success, fostering connections between Šumava locals, neighbours, and the wider ArtMill community. Visitors shared stories about the historic Red Mill, envisioned upcoming programs, and explored ideas for a future of coexistence between human and more-than-human species.
As part of the vibrant program, attendees enjoyed:
- Guided tours of the historic Red Mill, permaculture gardens, workshop areas, studios, and residency spaces.
- Open Studios where the six Artists-in-Residence—Fuad Alymani, Natália Kalná, Kateryna Khramtsova, Václav Mach, Sean Roy Parker, Anjan Salzer, Adam Sochorec, and Gilles Yann—showcased works created during the 2024 Summer Residency season.
The event also featured social research on local relationality and visions, which will contribute to shaping methodologies and outputs for the Research Creation.
Additionally, Czech TV’s Artyčok covered the event with interviews and a reportage, highlighting the significance of the project and its impact.
